The Events database and web publishing system were created by Web
Services (Information Division, University of Melbourne) in January
2003 as part of stage 1 in a long-term web redevelopment project.
The database has a simple web interface to allow Events publishers across
the university to enter event information.
Selected Events are displayed on the university's home page http://www.unimelb.edu.au/
which is updated hourly. The home page displays only today's events.
The events web site http://events.unimelb.edu.au/ displays current event
items on its home page. A basic search function is provided, enabling
web users to search by month, year, events type or keyword, or any combination
of these attributes.
Stage 2 has included some changes in functionality. This online help guide is provided to assist you with the new features.
Please feel free to contact staff at the Web Services with questions or comments about the Events database and web publishing system.
Advice has been provided for Event Managers so that University protocols are met for all events. For further information about Events Management, please see the Events management web site.
Terms and conditions ensure quality standards for the Events Database and publishing site. For more details, please go to the advice page of this online help manual.
