In August 2017 a new Energy Security Board (ESB) was established by the Council of Australian Governments Energy Council. The Board’s role is to coordinate the implementation of the reform blueprint produced by Australia's Chief Scientist, Dr Alan Finkel AO.

The ESB will also provide whole-of-system oversight for energy security and reliability to drive better outcomes for consumers.

Dr Kerry Schott AO, head of the Energy Security Board, will talk about the ESB's role, resources and responsibilities.

Dr Schott was a major architect of the National Energy Guarantee, which reflects the role of the Energy Security Board in creating security in the Energy Market. Her talk will inform debate about the role of renewable energy in the national energy market.

Doors will open at 6.45pm for a 7.00pm start.
