An exploration of Brazilian guitar music as seen through the traditional genre of choro.

Featuring MCM guitar staff Doug de Vries, Ken Murray and Adam May, alumni Rose Gonzalez and Paul Carey and associate artists Al Kerr (percussion) and Asha Henfry (flute).

Choro has its origins in late 19th century salon music, fused with elements of ragtime and samba. The music has seen a revival in recent years and has travelled internationally, reaching beyond its place of origin. Instruments featured in choro music such as the 7-string guitar, cavaquinho and pandeiro will be featured.

We strongly encourage booking in advance for all of our events. This guarantees your seat, and allows us to communicate any unforeseen event scheduling changes with you. Please note, tickets are required for entry to paid events.
