Nursing offers you a career that is fascinating, flexible and rewarding. Cruise ships, military bases, forensic laboratories, rescue helicopters and airports are just some of the non-traditional settings where registered nurses practice.

Studying nursing provides you with the opportunity to learn anatomy, physiology, law, sociology, psychology and pharmacology; to practise skills in resuscitation, communication, medication administration and health education. There are many clinical career opportunities for nurses.

As a nurse practitioner you will assess and manage clients using nursing knowledge and skills. This may include, but is not limited to, the direct referral of patients to other health care professionals, prescribing medications and ordering diagnostic investigations.

Other opportunities include becoming a nurse consultant developing policy and research, carrying out research in a nursing faculty, undertaking a PhD and working as a professor in a University. Come along to this interesting session and learn about the exciting possibilities of a career in nursing.
