The Asia Institute and the Centre for Advanced Journalism at the University of Melbourne, with Radio Australia of the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (the ABC) are jointly hosting the 2012 Melbourne Conference on China on Wednesday 30 May and Thursday 31 May 2012, at the Sidney Myer Asia Centre.

The theme of this year's international conference is Global media and public diplomacy in Sino-Western relations. The aim is to provide a lively and valuable opportunity to consider the relationship between global media and diplomacy, as well as the trends in media, China studies and international relations.
