The aim of this workshop will be to introduce colleagues to new strategies of mediating literature to wider audiences, both in academia itself, but also by developing new strategies of engaging with the wider public.

Barry Murnane is Associate Professor in German and Tutorial Fellow, St. John’s College, University of Oxford. He is currently visiting the Australia India Institute and the School of Languages and Linguistics, University of Melbourne. Associate Professor Barry Murnane's main areas of research are the literature and culture of the ‘threshold period’ between 1780 and 1830, modernism, and contemporary drama. Increasingly he has been working in the field of Medical Humanities and the Enlightenment Studies.
