In this seminar, Madam Justice Julie Dutil will discuss the origins of bijuralism in Canadian law and the relationship between civil and common law in Canada. The seminar will also canvass some important judgments in the Supreme Court of Canada that demonstrate the workings of birjuralism.

The Honourable Madam Justice Julie Dutil is a judge of the Court of Appeal of Quebec, Canada. Madam Justice Dutil was called to the Quebec Bar in 1980, where she specialized in labour law and was a member of several committees of the Quebec Bar.
