Understanding tumour evolution has fundamental implications for cancer treatment and prognostication. Currently, the evolution of structural variation is poorly understood. To address the lack of comprehensive methods available, Marek has developed a Bayesian inference approach to characterise structural variant evolution. As part of the Pan-Cancer Analysis of Whole Genomes project, he will apply the approach to over 2600 whole-genomes in 37 distinct tumour types, as well as a cohort of 30 samples across 16 prostate cancer patients to investigate treatment resistance.

No registration is required.
