Born in Woomera, South Australia, Yhonnie Scarce belongs to the Kokatha and Nukunu peoples. Working predominantly in glass, Scarce describes her work as ‘politically motivated and emotionally driven’. Scarce’s work often references the ongoing effects of colonisation on Aboriginal people. In particular, her research focus has explored the impact of the removal and relocation of Aboriginal people from their homelands and the forcible removal of Aboriginal children from their families. Her work has been included in important national and international exhibitions including Defying Empire: The third National Indigenous Triennial.

The ART150 Forum Series features artists discussing their work and ideas, followed by a Q&A. It's part of ART150: Celebrating 150 years of Art.
