In Voicetracks: Attuning to Voice in Media and the Arts, Professor Norie Neumark seeks to deepen understanding of voice through listening to a variety of contemporary art and media works. She brings together theories of sound, animal studies and new materialism to change the ways we think about and act with the assemblage of living creatures, things, place, and histories around us.
Norie Neumark is a sound/media artist and theorist. She is an Honorary Professorial Fellow at the VCA and Emeritus Professor at La Trobe University and the founding editor of Unlikely: Journal for Creative Arts. Her collaborative art practice with Maria Miranda has been commissioned and exhibited nationally and internationally.
This launch is proudly presented by the Matters of the Body research cluster, Faculty of VCA and MCM, the University of Melbourne in association with Liquid Architecture. Voicetracks is published by MIT Press and was supported by the University of Melbourne and Latrobe University.
