Cameron Sloan Concert for Guitar

Faculty of MCM Masters Recital Series

The two sonatas by Scarlatti were chosen to help develop Sloan's cross string trills and to introduce some 18th-century keyboard music into his repertoire. Rhapsody was included to expand his repertoire of contemporary New Zealand music and the program helped to support the development of technical fluency, coupled with an interest in neo baroque music and to allow him to continue working on my tremolo.

Sloan will perform works including:

  • Sonatas K. 308 and 309, Domenico Scarlatti
  • Rhapsody, Anthony Ritchie
  • Sonata Clasica, Manuel Maria Ponce
  • Temptation of the Renaissance, Stepan Rak
  • Three Airs of Court, Guido Santorsola
  • Variations on "What Have I Done to Upset You?", Mikhail Vysotsky
  • Fete Villageoise, Giulio Regondi
