Featuring Jonathan Paget on 19th century guitar.

‘Guitaromanie’ was a phrase coined by Charles de Marescot to describe the phenomenal popularity and fashionability of guitar in the early 19th century. In this delightful program, Australian guitarist Jonathan Paget seduces us with the delicate colours of the early Romantic guitar on period instruments in a program exploring some of the hidden gems of the repertoire — from Diabelli, to Mertz, and Coste (among others). Jonathan performs on replica instruments constructed by luthier Simon Rovis-Hermann.
