• Mr Peter Hormann

Peter worked as an engineer for Telstra for almost 25 years including Telstra Research Laboratories (TRL), REACH (based in the USA), Telstra International (based in Hong Kong), and Telstra's Network/IT Engineering and Architecture organisations. With cross organisational experience in innovation, operations and strategic development, his most recent activities have focused on an enterprise architecture view of energy efficiency, sustainability and smart cities/homes. In 2012, Peter was recognised for the co-creation and delivery of a University of Melbourne Masters/PhD level course for Energy Efficient Networks.

At this time, Peter is:

an Honorary Research Fellow in CEET at the University of Melbourne; a TelSoc Director, Victorian Committee Chair and a founding member; a volunteer bike mechanic with the Red Cross; and a fundraiser for the Kenyan Kinship.

Professional Objectives: 1. To be a valued leader and change agent for delivering sustainable and economic positive value creation to society through the use of green/smart ICT. 2. To promote the use of green/smart ICT to mitigate and tackle the effects of anthropogenic climate change and the role that the ICT industry must play to help Australia deal with this globally significant challenge.
