Dr Heather Gaunt has extensive expertise and experience in museum practice, including curatorship, collection management, public access (including technological access) and academic program development. She has published 16 papers in the areas of art museum practice and Australian cultural history, has two forthcoming international book chapters, and presents extensively at conferences in Australia and internationally.
Dr Gaunt's current role at the Grainger Museum, The University of Melbourne involves curating exhibitions and managing the Grainger collections. She also facilitates and contributes to collaborative research projects (UoM students and staff) focused on the Grainger Museum Collection, facilitates undergraduate and graduate engagements at the Museum in different disciplines, and undertakes research on object-based learning opportunities at the Museum. She has a particular research interest in medical humanities within museums and tertiary teaching contexts.
