• Associate Professor David B Grayden

Associate Professor David B. Grayden is Director of the NeuroEngineering Laboratory and Deputy Head (Academic) of the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering and the Discipline Coordinator of Biomedical Engineering. He obtained Bachelor degrees in Electrical and Electronic Engineering (1990) and Computer Science (1991) and a PhD in Electrical and Electronic Engineering (1999) from the University of Melbourne. His main research interests are in understanding how the brain processes information and how best to present information to the brain using medical bionics, such as the bionic ear and bionic eye, and in epileptic seizure prediction and electrical stimulation to prevent or stop epileptic seizures. He has research linkages in Australia with Cochlear Limited, The Bionics Institute, St Vincent's Hospital Melbourne, NICTA, University of Western Sydney and University of South Australia.
