Since 1998 Marynowsky has established himself as a leading artist in the field of media arts, achieving significant critical praise and international recognition for his performances and exhibitions. His practice typically draws on technology and programmed structures to create works that combine humour, high-camp and a host of unnerving thematic orientations to absorbing effect.

Recently he exhibited in ‘New Romance: art and the posthuman’, MMCA, Seoul, Korea and the MCA, Sydney. In 2014, he held the survey exhibition Nostalgia for Obsolete Futures at the National Gallery of Victoria and presented The Acconci Robot at ‘Thingworld’: The International Triennial of New Media Art, National Art Museum of China.
