Minister Bambang Brodjonegoro is Indonesia’s Minister for National Development Planning and Head of Indonesia’s National Development Planning Agency (BAPPENAS). He first served as the Minister of Finance under President Joko Widodo's administration from October 2014. In July 2016 he was appointed to his current portfolio. Previously he was appointed as the Chairman of the Fiscal Policy Office in the Ministry of Finance in 2011 and he also served as the Deputy Minister of Finance from 2013-2014. Minister Brodjonegoro holds a bachelor’s degree majoring in Economic Development and Regional Economy from Faculty of Economics at the University of Indonesia, and a Masters degree and PhD from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. He was the Dean of Faculty of Economics at the University of Indonesia from 2005 – 2009 and Director-General of the Islamic Research and Training Institute at the Islamic Development Bank until 2010.
