    Professor David Chalmers

David Chalmers is University Professor of Philosophy and Neural Science and co-director of the Center for Mind, Brain, and Consciousness at New York University. He is well-known for his work on consciousness and on many other issues in philosophy and cognitive science. His books include The Conscious Mind: In Search of a Fundamental Theory (1996), The Character of Consciousness (2010), and Constructing the World (2012). Chalmers co-founded the Association for the Scientific Study of Consciousness and is co-director of the PhilPapers Foundation. He is currently writing a book about philosophical issues arising from virtual reality.
