Robyn Sloggett is Director of the Centre for Cultural Materials Conservation (CCMC) at the University of Melbourne. Prior to her appointment to the CCMC, Robyn was the Deputy Director and Grimwade Chief Conservator at the Ian Potter Museum of Art. Robyn is currently a member of a number of committees including the University’s Cultural Collections Committee, the Collections Committee of the Library Board, State Library of Victoria and is chair of the Indemnification Committee Arts Victoria. She is also the Production Manager for the Melbourne Journal of Technical Studies in Art. Between 2000 – 2005 she was a board member of the Ian Potter Museum of Art, a foundation Director of AusHeritage, a member of the Federal Government’s Conservation and Collection Management Working Party of the Heritage Collections Council, and both a State and National President of the Australian Institute for the Conservation of Cultural Material (AICCM). Robyn has qualifications in Art History, Philosophy and Cultural Materials Conservation. Associate Professor Sloggett’s research interests include attribution and authentication of Australian paintings, the development of materials conservation in the Asia-Pacific, collection development and history, the investigation of the materials and techniques of artists, and the preservation of new information technologies held in regional and remote communities in Australia. In 2004 she was awarded AICCM's Conservator of the Year Award.
