Jessica Laraine Williams is a transdisciplinary practitioner and PhD candidate at the Victorian College of the Arts (VCA), Melbourne University. Her current praxis include art writing, speaking, mixed methods research and physiotherapy.
Jess has been working for close to a decade in her allied health profession, including hospital, rehabilitation and management roles. She now specialises in aged care physiotherapy part time. In parallel, Jess is undertaking her doctoral research into the aesthetic agents and agencies of transdisciplinary digital art. This includes collaborations with researchers outside her home faculty and institution. Her current projects include intersections between art and the fields of health, biophilic design, and ecology. Jess holds Honours degrees in both the Bachelor of Physiotherapy (Monash University) and the Bachelor of Fine Art (The Victorian College of the Arts, Melbourne University). She writes for art publications both academic and popular, such as the Conversation and Art+Australia.
