Changing the image of the profession

The University of Melbourne and CPA Australia are proud to present the 2014 Annual Research Lecture. This year’s event marks the 75th installment of what is the longest continuously running lecture series of its kind. Endowed by CPA Australia, the lecture series was established for the purpose of promoting and stimulating research and encouraging original contributions to accounting. This complimentary session is being held as part of CPA Congress and is available to all members of the public.

Sir David Tweedie will discuss the politics involved in forcing through change in accounting; questionable valuations; and the necessary and uncomfortable revolution required to position the audit in the centre of the financial reporting system and to transform its image.
