International Responses to Democratisation in the Arab World

Hosted by the Graduate School of Humanities and Social Sciences in partnership with the Australian Institute of International Affairs Victoria.

Australians have closely followed recent moves toward democratisation in North Africa and the Middle East. These events have once again tested the international community's capacity to balance national sovereignty with the preservation of human rights, and in particular its responsibility to protect populations from grave violations of these rights.

Join us as a panel of experts explores the consequences of regime change in Tunisia and Egypt, and uprising in Libya and Bahrain, for international relations.
