Improving our schools: What we know and what we need to do

International evidence is steadily providing a clearer picture of policy approaches that can help countries raise the quality of their education system. We are also learning more about measures that are ineffective or even counterproductive. Building on experience around the world, this lecture will describe the challenges to achieving better outcomes, and explain what state and national systems should do - and avoid doing - to support excellence and equity in schools. This lecture is hosted in partnership with the Australian Education Union and the Australian College of Educators.
