Take a tour of the Royal Library's Treasures and Curiosities

After dinner parties at Windsor Castle, the Queen often treats her guests to a tour of the Royal Library. Oliver Everett’s lecture will allow you to join such a tour to experience for yourself the fascinating collection of objects associated with the history of Britain and the Royal family that the Library abounds – a privilege only afforded to select academic researchers, but never to members of the general public!

The Royal Library’s treasures include beautiful and rare books and manuscripts (many with personal royal associations), clocks, miniatures, watercolours and old master drawings by artists including Leonardo da Vinci, Raphael, Michelangelo, Holbein and Canaletto, the insignia of Orders of Chivalry, the shirt in which Charles I was executed…and even the young Princess Elizabeth's personal description of her father's Coronation in 1937.
