Psilocybin assisted psychotherapy for methamphetamine dependence
The field of psychedelic medicine has been rapidly evolving over the past 10 years, with over one hundred clinical studies now underway globally, including six candidates in Phase 3 trials. In response, the Australian TGA recently re-scheduled psilocybin and MDMA for the treatment of depression and PTSD respectively. Encouraging data is also emerging for addictive disorders.
In this seminar Professor Brett will present an overview of results from the world’s first clinical study investigating psilocybin assisted psychotherapy for methamphetamine dependence, which was recently conducted at a St Vincent’s hospital Sydney.
