The Melbourne Conservatorium of Music Brass Ensemble joins forces with world-renowned crossover artist Rex Richardson for an exciting program featuring Australian composer Brendan Collins’s Trumpet Concerto and the Australian premiere of Allen Vizzutti’s new concerto Three World Winds. Richardson is hailed in classical circles as “among the very best trumpet soloists in the world today,” (International Trumpet Guild Journal) and “One of the finest virtuosos of our time” (The Brass Herald) and in jazz as “a standout soloist with the power, range and flexibility to rival Freddie Hubbard and Woody Shaw,” (DownBeat Magazine)

Sponsored by Yamaha Music Australia and the Australian Trumpet Guild, the concert will be followed by a public masterclass. Interested participants wishing to play in the masterclass must register by 30 September and will be notified if they have been selected at least two weeks prior to the class.
