Fungi are a separate, hyper-diverse kingdom of the natural world, more closely related to animals than to plants. In this talk, Dr May will explore fungal diversity, nutrition and lifecycles, with a focus on interactions with other organisms, to show that fungi are essential components of ecosystems, and that their biological properties make them excellent model organisms and also enable development of novel materials.
