Canticles, rivers and horns: a homage to Britten

Join tenor Michael Petruccelli, pianist Andrea Katz, and horn player Carla Blackwood as they mark the 50th anniversary of Benjamin Britten’s passing.
This special program pairs Britten’s deeply expressive 20th-century masterpieces with the timeless lyricism of his favorite composer, Franz Schubert. The performance features Britten’s profound Canticles, a selection of Schubert’s most celebrated lieder, and the epic, sweeping Auf dem Strom.
This recital is presented as part of the Hanson Dyer Hall Concert Series. All concerts in this series can also be streamed live via our website.

“Being anti-racist in psychology: disrupting colonialism and asserting an ethics of restoration.”
The MDHS Indigenous Development Portfolio is pleased to host this special lecture, with Professor Mike McGuckin, Acting Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences. We are delighted to welcome Professor Waikaremoana Waitoki to explore the role of anti-racism, truth-telling and Indigenous knowledge in transforming psychology.
Her talk will consider how anti-racism can disrupt the monocultural foundations of psychology and support the reclamation of Indigenous knowledge, drawing on the work of Dr Moana Jackson and his powerful concept of an Ethics of Restoration.
