DESCRIPTION:A significant part of building up an 'industry engaged' resea
 rch career is establishing partnerships with organisations and entities b
 eyond the university\, which – if successful – progress into more for
 mal relationships through funding agreements\, MoUs\, and over time set o
 ut distinct track records for you or your research team. Taking more 'mea
 ningful' approaches to building research partnerships is also a key ethos
  of the Centre for Cities. This session will workshop some 'real world' a
 nd active partnerships that are of relevant to the centre\, and explore b
 oth the crafting of these relationships\, and the formal hurdles (and loo
 pholes) that need to be considered at different points through this proce

 itment to support ECR agendas at the Centre. The sessions are programmed\
 , organised\, and led collectively by early career Centre affiliates\, to
  reflect the skills\, concerns\, and experiences of the many young resear
 chers who work at the Centre.\n</p>\n<p>\n  What exciting approaches to r
 esearch are proposed by MC4C ECRs? How do these resonate across ECR exper
 iences at Unimelb? And how can we better learn from each other?\n</p>\n<p
 >\n  Come find your people!\n</p>\n<p>\n  Join us on the second Thursday 
 of each month for an afternoon of peer learning and discussion\, on theme
 s such as building research partnerships\, managing controversial images\
 , and creating a research environment where we are heard\, seen\, and und
 erstood.\n</p>

 ctor (International) of the Melbourne Centre for Cities\, and is the Melb
 ourne Postdoctoral Fellow for the University of Melbourne's Faculty of Ar
 chitecture\, Building and Planning. His current research focuses on the w
 ay that cities are contributing to the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Dev
 elopment\, as well as urban climate resilience and adaptation planning in
  Pacific Small Island Developing States. From 2016-2020 Alexei was the Fu
 ture Cities Coordinator at the Melbourne Sustainable Society Institute.\n

  at the University of Melbourne\, funded by a Research Training Program S
 cholarship.\n</p>\n<p>\n  Anna is researching the evolution of Australia'
 s night time economy\, with a particular focus on night time labour marke
 t trends and government initiatives. The research will map history\, poli
 cy and data to demonstrate the development of the night time economy in A
 ustralia and distil common themes.\n</p>
