Michael Birnhack is Associate Dean (Research) and Professor of Law at Tel Aviv University, Faculty of Law. His research focuses on the legal implications of information technology, and especially within the field of privacy law. Michael has conducted research on topics such as privacy by design, digital remains, medical data, and school surveillance. He has served and advised several Israeli expert committees on privacy-related matters, and was sub-contractor for the European Commission on the matter of Israel’s data protection regime. Michael also heads the Parasol International LL.M Program at TAU, and directs the S. Horowitz Institute on IP.
