• Mr Brendan Clift

Brendan Clift is a Teaching Fellow and PhD candidate at Melbourne Law School, the University of Melbourne. He lived in Hong Kong for over a decade, including during the Umbrella Movement, working variously as a lawyer, publisher, journalist and university teacher. His current research focuses on the legitimacy of law and courts under authoritarianism, taking as its case study Hong Kong during and between the mass social movements of 2014 and 2019.
