A symposium to coincide with the exhibitions Hide and Seek and Inner Worlds: Portraits & Psychology running concurrently at the Dax Centre and the Potter respectively.

This half-day symposium will elaborate on themes raised by the exhibitions and draw on a number of frameworks including philosophy, ethics, psychoanalysis, history, art history, and psychology and current art practice.

Participants will be invited to tour the exhibition,followed by a presentation and Q & A with the exhibition curators, Chris Chapman (National Portrait Gallery, Canberra) and Juliette Hanson and Anna Takac (The Dax Centre).

The afternoon will include a panel discussion with Dr Eugen Koh, director Dax Centre and psychiatrist; Professor Joy Damousi, Professor of History and author; Mike Parr, artist.

MC for the symposium is Amanda Smith, presenter The Body Sphere, ABC Radio National.
