Trinity College

Come and hear the Choir of Trinity College and a cast of outstanding soloists, conducted by Jonathan Grieves-Smith, perform the St John Passion (sung in German). There is also a free pre-concert talk beginning at 6.30pm.

Soloists: Paul McMahon (Evangelist), Michael Leighton Jones (Jesus), Janet Todd (Soprano), Sally-Anne Russell (Alto), Richard Butler (Tenor) and Andrew Collis (Bass).

Bach’s St John Passion is one of the undisputed masterworks of classical music. This concert marks the 290th anniversary of the first performance in Leipzig in 1724, and also acknowledged the retirement of Michael Leighton Jones as Director of Music at Trinity College after 17 years.
